T1 for a specific route and cargo
T1 is external transit, generally for non-Union goods. It allows movement under customs supervision to a place for further formalities without collecting import charges at that stage. It may also cover a movement within one EU country. Enquiries about transit arrangements may concern Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, Rotterdam and Antwerp. We confirm availability for the particular port, cargo and route. Before accepting an order, we agree the delivery arrangements, roles of the parties and transit guarantee requirements.
What to send for a T1 quote
You do not need to know every formality. Send the available documents and a description of the transport; we will identify missing information.
- Departure port and terminal, destination and planned route.
- Invoice, specification or packing list: goods description, value, weight and package count.
- Transport documents and available customs documents, including previous MRNs where relevant.
- Consignor, consignee and carrier details, plus container or vehicle numbers when known.
- Planned collection date, known customs office of destination details and email contact.
Documents and responsibilities in transit
First, we confirm the agreed scope, data needed and service terms. Once the goods have been placed under the procedure, we provide the agreed documents or references and information for the onward movement. We also agree how information on presentation of the goods at destination will be provided. The holder of the procedure is responsible, among other things, for the required guarantee and presentation of the goods and information within the time limit set by the office of departure. Carriers and recipients who knowingly accept goods under transit also have presentation obligations. Transit ends on proper presentation of the goods and required information; customs discharges it after comparing departure and destination data.
Monitoring and changes during T1 handling
The order defines monitoring of available case information and communication about missing details or discrepancies. Report a proposed vehicle, route, collection date or destination change before it takes place. We will check what is possible at that stage and whether the relevant customs office or other parties must be involved.
T1 price: what determines the quote
Pricing depends on the route, goods type and value, number of items, guarantee arrangements, documents and service scope. Timing also depends on cargo readiness, complete information and customs actions. We confirm terms for the specific movement, without quoting one price or guaranteeing the same processing time for all T1 orders.
A single movement or recurring routes
For one movement, send the port, destination, date and documents. For ongoing work, specify ports, typical routes, goods types and approximate monthly T1 volume. We will prepare terms and agree the first movement. A phone call or a portal account is not required to begin.
Before you send a request
Do you arrange T1 from Hamburg, Rotterdam and Antwerp?
Yes, we accept enquiries for T1 coordination from these ports. We confirm feasibility after reviewing the goods, route, documents and service requirements.
Is T1 a port registration or export confirmation?
No. T1 is a transit procedure, while port registration supplies data needed for port handling. Export confirmation relates to the export procedure. We establish the necessary scope for the particular shipment.
Does CloseMRN always act as the T1 guarantor itself?
We agree the service arrangements, roles and required guarantee before accepting the specific order. An offer to coordinate T1 does not by itself identify the holder of the procedure or the party providing the guarantee.
